The Central New Brunswick Schutzhund Club is located at 1465 ROUTE 620, Estey’s Bridge, New Brunswick, Canada E3G 6W9 (a short drive outside of Fredericton, N.B.). We are proud to be a full member club of the GSSCC (German Shepherd Shutzhund Club of Canada).
CNBSC is a group of people with common goals: to train our dogs to the best of our abilities, to title our dogs in the sport of Schutzhund at the highest level possible, and to support each other in achieving these goals. Members are required to participate in all three phases of Schutzhund: Tracking, Obedience and Protection.
We welcome any dog with working ability. Whether a dog is capable of doing the sport is a question of temperament, not breed. See the "Is Schutzhund for You" section for more information. Certain values and attributes are also expected from the owner / handler / trainer: Positive attitude, Respect for others, good Teamwork, etc.
Our club members work as a team, whether it is helping to work the long line, being a spotter while others work their dogs, stepping in for the obedience group or to offer distractions for dogs preparing to trial. Members and guests are expected to observe and participate during every training session. It is important that all club members support the club and volunteer during all trials and events.
We take our training very seriously and expect our members to be 100% committed to obtaining IPO titles. Members are encouraged to attend every training session. It is important to attend as other club members rely on each other to offer assistance during training. Members are expected to train their dog to the best of their ability. Schutzhund is a very demanding sport and not intended for casual participation.
Guests are welcome to join us during our training sessions on an appointment basis. Our membership is open to those that are serious about training and committed to obtaining IPO titles. Please contact our training director to schedule your visit.
Our club is very fortunate to have experienced dog handlers and trainers who are always willing to help or just be there for advice and guidance.
